We are thrilled to announce the addition of Rachel Scandling to our leadership team this month! Rachel will join LAPP as Co-Director and Producer.
Rachel began working with LAPP at The Bootleg during the inaugural Live Arts Exchange in fall of 2013. Rachel’s background in dance influences her love for producing performance and interactive events. Since its opening in 2012, Rachel has been a lead producer of programming at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles, creating and executing some of the city’s largest events, including LA’s first central New Year’s Eve celebration and 3D projection mapping of City Hall. She is also an associate producer with The Industry, LA’s premiere experimental opera company. She was a part of the producing team for the ground-breaking production of Crescent City in May 2012, and worked on the internationally-acclaimed, wireless-headphone opera Invisible Cities at Union Station the following year. Prior to her work with Grand Park, Rachel coordinated development efforts with Segerstrom Center for the Arts, moving to LA to fundraise with The Music Center in 2009. She also teaches yoga in Echo Park and morning coffee is the most important thing on her to do list.
